Miss Wiltshire Prep and Finals!

After my amazing experience last year, I found myself sending off my application form again this year for the same competition. However I felt somewhat prepared this year, I actually had some understanding of what was ahead. I was very organised in the leading up to the event and even though I didn't win, I took a lot from the experience!

Charity
I did lots of charity fundraising this year and managed to raise £206.10 which I was really impressed with. I ran an online pageant which was really popular and I had some of my fellow beauty queens judge for me. It was an easy thing to organise which allowed me to focus on other fundraisers and other pageant activities. I also did 2 car boots and flogged some of my old belongings for a bit of cash. I managed to raise lots of money for charity as well as getting rid of things I didn't need anymore. Finally I did a Yankee Candle Raffle which raised the most! Everyone loves yankee candles so people bought lots of tickets making it my biggest fundraiser!

Eco-Wear
I've had my eco-wear idea since last year which enabled me plenty of time to collect sweet wrappers. I made a dress out of scrap materials and layered wrappers over the top. It was a very time consuming and tiring job. I managed to burn myself a lot as well as turning my house into a sweat shop filled of wrappers. It was a very messy job but once it was finished I was so happy! I now have 2 eco dresses in my collection so I can hopefully reuse them again instead of making new ones!

Appearances
I managed to do so many appearances in the 6 weeks before the event. Such as carnivals, duck races and events with my sponsor. I was sponsored by Grants Dental Practice in Royal Wootton Bassett and they were so supportive! I has there back up at all times and I was so honoured to have been sponsored by them. They have also agreed to work with me over the next year which is amazing!

The Day
The day of the pageant was the day after my prom was I was exhausted! However the venue was the same so I felt immediately in my comfort zone. I went straight in to learn the dance routine which once again was in my comfort zone. I  met the girls one by one and they were all lovely! The day went really fast, before I knew it we were putting our dresses on! It was a fun day and although I didn't win, I did come away with Miss Publicity which made me very happy

I had such a great day and I will all the luck to the new Miss Wiltshire and all the other girls who continue within pageants!
