Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival - Take 3

On Saturday 21st May, I was invited to take part in Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival for the third year running! In 2014, the carnival was my first every appearance as Runner Up Miss Swindon. I was then invited again in 2015 where I was also Runner Up Miss Swindon and a Miss Wiltshire finalist. This year I was invited again and this time I will be walking as a Face of The Globe National Finalist!

I was also fortunate enough to be invited to help judge the carnival royalty! I judged alongside the current major Mary and the previous mayor and his wife! I didn't realise how difficult it was to judge the royalty, all the contestants were amazing.

Carnival Day commenced on May 21st and sadly I woke up to rain! Sadly it rained all day, which was such a shame. Lots of people still came out to enjoy the parade but not as many as normal. Despite the rain and being soaked from head to toe by the end. I still had an amazing time, walking alongside the Mayor and Town Crier. Hopefully we'll have the sun for next year!

Miss Sparkling Beauty 2016

Hello all!

With Face of The Globe prep well underway, I've been raising money for the Rainbow Child Foundation. My biggest fundraiser was Miss Sparkling Beauty which was held on Sunday 15th May. I decided to organise my own beauty pageant in aid of the charity.
The pageant consisted of 4 rounds:

Opening - Cocktail Dress
DIY - A home made dress
Fashion - Whatever you define as fashion
Evening - Of course!

The day was filled with rehearsals, a workshop with Sarah Rich - Mrs Great Britain and of course lots of photos!

Running a pageant is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be. However I know as soon as I need to plan an event for my degree, I'll be running one again. I was more scared being on the stage presenting! I'm never that nervous before I compete!

All the girls did amazing and the scores were so close! A lot of the girls who competed were only on their second pageant and some had never competed before! The girls all put in so much effort into their outfits and their fundraising and appearances before the final!

The Team:
I can't take all the credit from the night as I had some amazing friends who helped call the girls back to the stage, selling raffle tickets and help add up scores. The "Entourage" as the photographer called them were amazing and made the day so much easier for me!

The final part of the day was the crowing! The winners were:

Little Miss - Willow Holmes-Munt
Miss - Sophie Hoyle
Ms - Hannah Golding

I can't wait to see what the girls do with their titles! I know they'll all do amazing!

Thank you for reading and I will be back soon with more events!

Big News!

Hello All!

After a long break I'm back in pageant land! After Miss Glamorous Beauty, I decided to take a break and focus on work and my family a bit more.
After my long rest and visit to Disneyworld, I'm ready to announce my next pageant!

This year I am a finalist in the Face of The Globe National Finals in Hastings in August!
Face of The Globe has been a pageant I've been interested in entering since I came runner up in my first. Having seen Hannah Golding ( Team England 2016) and Ruth Wade (Face of The Year 2016) compete and have the most amazing time, I knew this was the next pageant I wanted to dedicate my time to.

Pageants have changed my life and I'm so excited to embark on a whole new journey with Face of The Globe. Since receiving my sash I have planned two charity events and filled my diary with appearances!

My aim is to raise at least £1000 for Rainbow Child Foundation in time for the final. My two current planned events are Miss Sparkling Beauty which is a charity pageant I've organised for this Sunday!
Also a Disney Themed Tea Party & Fete on June 5th.

I've already started taking part in events in my town, Royal Wootton Bassett such as judging the carnival royalty alongside the current and previous mayor. Just in time for the carnival next weekend!

I'm so excited for the next few months and I can't wait to write about my journey!

Pageant Prep is underway!

Hello all,

The past few weeks have been busy so haven't quite got round to updating my blog! Lot's of exciting things have been happening which is great! With 2 pageants coming up, I have been attending and planning appearances as well as planning a really exciting event.

Last week I modelled and helped at my fellow beauty queens eco fashion show and clothes swap event! It meant I got to wear all my old outfits that I have made for previous pageants that have only sat in my wardrobe since. I haven't received the professional yet but I will share when I do. I try and support my fellow beauty queens at their events, especially when it's all for charity!

The following day I went to support the Time To Change charity day in Swindon. The sun came out and it was a beautiful day. Having suffered with mental health problems in the past, attending an event like this was important and something I would like to fundraise for in the future as it's still seen as such a taboo subject. It was a really fun day and they did raise lots of money which is also amazing!

My biggest news of the week is exciting! I was had a meeting with Threshold Homeless Charity in Swindon today and as some of you know, I am a Project Code Red ambassador. I am joining the charities together and I am running an appeal alongside some fellow beauty queens in time for christmas! I am so excited about this. The prep is underway and although it's going to be very busy and very tough at times, I'm so excited that I am able to try and raise awareness and also make a difference.

That's all for now!

New Title, New Journey

Every pageant has a whole new journey involved after you send the application off. No pageant is the same and so much preparation is involved. In November I am competing in 2 very different pageants for 2 separate titles. One is a charity pageant run my by pageant buddy. I will be running for Miss Teen Rainbow Star. It's a disney themed pageant which is so excited! Every penny goes towards the Rainbow Child Foundation which makes the experience in more worth while. I have somehow agreed to enter the talent round which is still freaking me out a little! However it it providing me with even more pageant experience with rounds I've never had the experience to enter before. I will be designing an making a disney themed outfit in the coming weeks and I will keep you posted on that!

The second pageant is Miss Glamorous Beauty UK. This will be my first national pageant that I will get to represent Wiltshire in! This pageant has even more new rounds involved which means more making and dress hunting! I'm so nervous, yet extremely excited! I can't wait to finally make appearances in a new sash, I feel my Miss Swindon RU sash is getting old :( This pageant is in Cardiff and has 4 rounds. 2 of which are new to me. Beach wear and outfit of choice are two rounds that I haven't come across yet so are causing a few butterflies. The beach wear outfit is underway, I'm looking forward to glamming it up!

I have many appearances coming up that I will be keeping you up to date with as they come around. I'm so excited to be getting involved in local events with my pageant friends again. The next 4-6 weeks are going to be filled with appearances and major pageant prep!

I can't wait to share my upcoming journey with you all!
